Does Dr. Coombs accept insurance?

Since naturopathic physicians are not universally covered by insurance companies in Arizona, Dr. Coombs does not work directly with insurance companies. Determining insurance coverage is the patient’s responsibility. Please check with your insurance company to determine coverage. We can provide you with a superbill (receipt and breakdown of services rendered) that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement based on your coverage. In-person Naturemedica patients may have their labs/visits submitted to insurance by on site staff.

MEDICARE DOES NOT COVER ANY LABS COVERED BY DR. COOMBS - self pay labs available at Naturemedica at a discount.

Can I use an HSA or FSA to pay for my visit?

Yes, you can use an HSA or FSA for naturopathic visits, with some exceptions.

Will Dr. Coombs my primary care provider?

Though naturopathic doctors are licensed as primary care providers in many states, Dr. Coombs may not be licensed in your state and eligible to be your PCP. With a specialty in behavioral health, she does not provide PCP services (annual exams, gynecological services, etc.), but can manage medications (thyroid, hormones, antibiotics, etc.) that a PCP would otherwise prescribe. We recommend maintaining care with a PCP to access diagnostic testing with the most insurance coverage possible. Dr. Coombs loves to collaborate with other providers for the most comprehensive approach to your health.

Does Dr. Coombs do phone or video consultations?

YES! Phone and video consultations are available and encouraged! Please contact DoctorEmilyND@gmail.com to arrange a preliminary check in to see if we are a good fit. If you have been referred by someone, please include your referral source in your communication. In person appointments are available at Naturemedica in Arizona.
